Watchmane

Watchmane, as a gospel hip-hop artist, is on a mission to reach the youth of America and beyond.  His powerful and heartfelt lyrics translate the gospel of Jesus Christ into a language that resonates with people from all walks of life.  Coming from an urban perspective, Christian “Watchmane” Deeble is an artist that is without question a welcomed addition to the genre of gospel hip-hop.

From an early age, Watchmane like many urban teens grew up in a single parent home where he didn’t have the benefit of a father figure.  As a result, Watchmane’s childhood and teen years were filled with a lack of identity that led him to a life of street hustle and drug consumption.  Watchmane’s passion for music drew him to mainstream hip-hop where he began to become influenced by the secular messages intentionally laced inside of each and every catchy baseline and beat sample.  Christian Deeble’s wakeup call came suddenly when he was convicted of a felony and realized that he needed change.  With his back against the wall, Christian “Watchmane” Deeble attended a church service with his cousin and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Watchmane’s first reaction to his new life was to write poetry reflecting his new found passion for Jesus Christ.  This passion for Jesus Christ began to fuel the Watchmane’s desire to do everything in his power to become a mouthpiece for his Lord.  A gospel hip-hop artist was born and the result has been lives changed and impacted for the kingdom of God.  Watchmane’s brand of in your face gospel lyrics and neck bobbing beats has touched the hearts of thousands of teens as he has toured relentlessly in the effort to spread the gospel.

Watchmane is a humble young man who is currently an active member of Greater Works Ministry in Grand Rapids, Michigan (Senior Pastor G. Andrew Beresford).  Over the past few years, Watchmane has learned and grown at Greater Works and credits his pastor for helping him to keep a ministry focus with his gifts and talents.  In his own words, Watchmane explains, “I know hip-hop music is influential because I can see how it has impacted the community.  I want to use my gift of music to influence the community for Jesus Christ.”
